40's Redux For Fall 2011

Hollywood's leading ladies of the 1940's, Florence Rice, Joan Crawford & Bette Davis were the era of the bold shoulders, pinched waists and sleek skirts.  Now flashing forward to current style trends, it's a 40's redux for Fall 2011 as we are seeing a resurgence of this once popular vintage design.
Thirty years ago, in the 80's padded shoulder designs resurfaced and it was 'out with Joan Crawford & in with Joan Collins' as her character Alexis Carrington on the then popular weekly sitcom Dallas, brought broad shoulders back into the limelight.  It was basically a huge fashion 'DO' to incorporate pads into every garment be it blouse, dress or jacket.
This year, bold shoulders are being fancied by celebrities yet again, as on the 'up side' we are seeing glam'd up versions as shown here worn by songstress Rhianna.
Of course there's also a 'down side' as Lady Gaga has her extreme times infinity version of shoulder pads which gives her the appeal of Igor instead of Icon!  I mean seriously?!
*Random Fact: Shoulder pads have been around for decades and were originally created as a means to enhance the appearance of individuals who had narrow or sloping shoulders.

I'm amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that's
equally educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you've hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. Now i'm
very happy that I came across this during my hunt for something concerning this.

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog.

Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility issues?

A couple of my blog visitors have complained about my site not working correctly in Explorer
but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any recommendations to help fix this problem?
